Mississauga Artists
Mississauga has long been home to a rich and diverse community of artists whose contributions shape the cultural fabric of our city and beyond. Many notable Canadian artists have roots here, and the City of Mississauga continues to foster a vibrant and growing population of emerging creatives across all disciplines.
At the Art Gallery of Mississauga (AGM), we are proud to champion Mississauga-based artists by exploring meaningful opportunities to showcase their work, build connections, and grow their practices. Our commitment is reflected through our year-round exhibition programming, artist talks, professional development workshops, and community-focused events.
We strongly encourage Mississauga artists to engage with the AGM by attending our programs, networking at our events, and submitting proposals for exhibitions and opportunities. When submitting, we encourage you to indicate your connection to Mississauga.
To ensure inclusivity and broad representation, the AGM defines a “Mississauga artist” as an artist who meets at least one of the following criteria:
- Residence: The artist currently resides in Mississauga or the surrounding region.
- Origin: The artist was born or raised in Mississauga, regardless of their current location.
- Connection: The artist’s work, project, or practice demonstrates a strong and meaningful link to Mississauga, regardless of where the artist currently resides.
By uplifting local voices and fostering opportunities for collaboration, the AGM seeks to nurture Mississauga’s creative community and ensure that our city’s cultural identity continues to thrive.
