Over the last ten years, the 10×10 Photography Project has shined a light on a vibrant and diverse queer community. Previously a staple of visual arts programming at the Gladstone Hotel during Pride Toronto celebrations, 10×10 is proudly hosted by the Art Gallery of Mississauga for its tenth and final instalment.
Each year, the project features 100 new portraits of LGBTQI arts and cultural figures in Canada as seen through the lenses of ten queer lens-based artists. The subjects represent an intersection of professional experiences, highlighting both established and rising stars in the industry.
Accompanying each 10×10 exhibition is a catalogue that includes all 100 portraits presented in the show. Copies of the catalogue are available for purchase at the front desk.
2022 represents a landmark occasion for the 10×10 Photography Project, which has highlighted a total of 100 exceptional photographers who have collectively captured portraits of 1000 queer Canadian individuals in the arts.
