
SHANNON ANDERSON
SENIOR CURATOR
Shannon joined the Art Gallery of Mississauga in 2022. She has more than twenty years of professional experience in curating, writing, editing, and collections management. In her independent curatorial practice, she developed exhibitions for galleries across the country, including the Owens Art Gallery in Sackville, NB; Musée d’art de Joliette, QC; University of Waterloo Art Gallery, ON; Oakville Galleries, ON; Contemporary Calgary, AB; and Surrey Art Gallery, BC; among others. Her previous roles include Art Curator for the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital, where she helped to establish a role for art in a healthcare setting, and Curatorial Assistant for Oakville Galleries. She earned her HBA and Art Diploma through the Art and Art History Program at the University of Toronto Mississauga and Sheridan, and her MA in Art History from Concordia University. She is an elected member of IKT International Association of Curators of Contemporary Art, and a board member of the SAGA Foundation. Shannon grew up in Mississauga and currently lives in Oakville.
